Anyway, on to the updating!
Nora's walking!! AHH!!!! Look out! She still usually still prefers to crawl, since she's pretty fast that way, but she likes surprising us by walking across the room every so often! She has really gotten in to being SILLY and doing things purposely to make us laugh. She's a goofball! She also really likes hanging toys out of her mouth while she's playing... the spoon in this picture is one of her favorites, though she spent about 10 minutes last night with 2 teethers, just putting one in her mouth for a minute, crawling about 2 steps, then switching them!
She has figured out how to use her "sippy" cup - she was pretty proud of herself with that new skill! She doesn't really get that much water out yet, but she thinks she does and always puts the cup down with a big "ahhh" look!
She wants to be independent when it comes to eating and drinking, which is why you can see food all over her arms, mouth, neck, tray, etc, in this picture! If you click on the "June" photo album in the sidebar, you can see her working on feeding herself from the spoon - which led to this mess. :)
She's also big into "dancing" now and we'll try to post of video of that soon. We actually do have a video of that. It is becoming increasingly difficult to take pictures or videos of Nora because she has discovered the joy of the instant gratification of the digital camera... ah, technology!

We're getting ready for our big move, which is coming up VERY soon... like ~July 22nd ish... yikes! Brad's working day and night to finish writing his dissertation before that and we will be coming back to Athens for his defense on August 4th. Almost there!!!!
After a lot of letters to principals, applications, etc, Stacie got a job! She'll be teaching ESOL again (well, in this district it's ESL - education is really just a bunch of acronyms!) in a middle school in Loudoun County. We'll be living in Fairfax County on the Loudoun border and this school is just over the border, so the commute should be easy! She interviewed with the principal the last time we were in VA and he seems to have a lot of the same philosophies as she does. And she gets an assistant teacher and a Smart board - woo hoo! :)
Mike, Jenn, and April came to visit us this past weekend!! We had a great time and it was really fun watching the girls interact. We mostly have videos from the visit, and they're not uploaded yet, but here's a picture for now. :)

ReplyDeleteGood job Nora !
So what type of house did you get?
Congrats on your job Stacie !
The American system is just so much easier on families . In France you'd have to stay back until you had enough points to follow your husband!
Good luck on the move
thinking of you
love
Alice
